Welcome...
Metropolitan Walkers is the London based walking group for people in their 20s and 30s. We organise walks in London and the South East as well as weekend trips throughout the UK. The group is run by volunteers, and we welcome new members. We're part of the Ramblers, Britain's walking charity.
Our varied walks programme
With 6 walks a week to choose from with everything from short evening strolls through London's parks to 20+ mile hikes over the hills, there are walks to suit everyone whatever your fitness level. We also do weekends away to a variety of great hiking destinations. All our walks are accessible by public transport which means they generally start and finish at a rail or tube station.
Make new friends
Our members range in age from people in their 20s to early 40s. Most of our walks end at the pub - a great way to get to know fellow members. Our packed social programme includes restaurant meals, concerts, theatre shows, ceilidh dancing and a regular pub night.
Escape London
As well as walking in the Capital and beautiful areas near London such as the North Downs, South Coast and Chilterns, the group has weekends away most months to the UK's top hiking destinations such as the Lake District, Snowdonia, Scotland and the Peak District.
Try us out for free
You are welcome to try out up to three walks before joining, and there are new members on most walks. Membership costs just £31 per year (concessionary £19.50) and is administrated by the Ramblers. Once you've tried out a few walks and decided you like us, join the Met Walkers.
Get involved
The group is run entirely by volunteers. All walks are led by members of the group, and we encourage members to get involved so you too can lead your own walk. You can lead anything from a short stroll to a 20 mile hike. We are always looking new ideas for walks and socials, so feel free to give us some suggestions.
